Lack of shelter, food increases Gazans’ misery as winter sets in

“Families huddle up inside tents or dilapidated buildings," is what OCHA stated. These families lack even the most basic of items. This includes footwear. It also includes clothing, bedding and cooking utensils. "They're also faced with an acute shortage of medical supplies. The situation is exacerbating health issues at a rapid pace". This comes as a statement from UN agencies, and they are aware of the severity of the current situation in Gaza.

“Children face the cold. They are wet. They are shoeless. I see many children. Still wearing their summer attire. Cooking gas is non-existent. This means a lot of children. They are scavenging through piles of garbage. Their intention is to find plastic they can burn. Their little bodies are under disease siege. Diseases run rampant. Meanwhile, hospitals are in a dire state. Constantly coming under attack,” Bollen said.

“As many join celebrations of Christmas and New Year they are surrounded by many things. Let's take a moment to think of these children. These kids have so little yet lose more, every day.

“Every day without action takes another from Gaza’s children. Gaza’s children can't afford to wait. This is what Bollen said."
